Interim Director

Tom Miller is the Interim Director of the Campus School. Previously, Tom was the Director of the Kevin O’Grady at the Northshore Education Consortium and prior to that he was the Director of Infant and Toddler and School Age Services at Perkins School for the Blind. In addition to being the Interim Director, Tom is also an Adjunct Faculty member and Practicum Supervisor in the Lynch School of Education and Human Development at Boston College. Tom has presented nationally and internationally developing programs and advocating for specialized services for learners with low incidence conditions and their families.

Jessica Pugliesi is the Assistant Director at the Campus School. Previously, Jessica worked as a ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼äBA, severe special education teacher, and transition coordinator for a public school. She also provided in-home parent training and oversaw a social skills group for students 5-15. She received her Masters in Severe Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from Endicott College as well as her Transition Endorsement from UMASS Boston. Additionally, she holds her administrative license in special education.

Susie O'Donnell has been at the Campus School since 2006 and serves as the Business Manager.Ìý She graduated from St. Anselm College with a degree in Computer Science with Business and in 2012 she earnedÌý a Masters of Science in Administrative Studies through the Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College.Ìý Prior to joining Campus School, Susie retired from Delta Airlines where she loved traveling. She enjoys being a member of the ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä community and working with the students and staff at the Campus School.

Jennifer Miller is the Marketing and Outreach Manager at the Campus School and began her ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä career in July 2020. Jennifer previously served in marketing roles at the British International School of Boston, Pine Manor College, Arnold Worldwide, and Reebok International. Jennifer oversees the Campus School’s marketing, outreach, and advancement efforts. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, has three children, and enjoys all racquet sports.

Kara McIntyre Hardiman, LICSW is the Campus School Social Worker, and a graduate of Boston College and the Boston College School of Social Work. HerÌý professional experienceÌý includesÌý working with patients and families in hospice and palliative care settings, as well as at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she served on the Ethics Committee. She has also been an Advisor at the ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä School of Social Work since 2012.Ìý She was a panelist at a Massachusetts Medical Society conference, and a parent panelist at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her current role includes working with, supporting, and advocating for Campus School students and families, coordinating family services and resources, and facilitating the Parent Advisory Group. Kara is the wife of an educator and a mother of four.

Kristina Pagliocca is the Administrative Assistant at the Campus School at Boston College. Kristina joined the Campus School in February 2021 and earned her B.A. from UMass Amherst, where she majored in Communication and minored in English. Kristina works in the Main Office supporting all functions of the Campus School including greeting all staff, students, and visitors; handling billing and tuition; and maintaining all student files.

Annie Leary serves as the Volunteer Coordinator at the Campus School at Boston College.ÌýIn this role, Annie oversees hundreds of ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä undergraduates who volunteer through the CSVÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä (Campus School Volunteers of Boston College), 4Boston, and other volunteer groups.Ìý She previously worked at Babson College as the Assistant Director of Career Development and at Boston College as the Assistant Director of Premedical Programs.Ìý In her prior roles, Annie has worked with undergraduates in a variety of areas including career development, student activities, and advising.Ìý Annie is a proud Boston College alumnae, having earned her BA in Communications and MA in Higher Education Administration.

Lena SpearÌýis a classroom teacher at the Campus School at Boston College, where she was previously a teaching assistant. Lena is a strong proponent of literacy instruction for students with extensive support needs and recently became an Orton-Gillingham Community Educator to help facilitate letter and phonics instruction. Prior to the Campus School, Lena was a paraprofessional at the Carter School, a research assistant looking at the alignment between healthcare and human services nationwide, andÌýan in-home PCA for various members of her community. She is passionate about finding the right way to teach content at the right time in order to see student learning take off. In her free time, Lena loves to explore new areas in Massachusetts on her bike and listen to audiobooks in her hammock.

Marina joined Campus School at Boston College in 2023 and is a classroom teacher. Prior to coming to Boston College she taught students with extensive support needs for Southbridge Public Schools and was a paraprofessional at the Carter School in Boston for five years. Marina grew up with two brothers who have extensive support needs who ignited her passion for working with similar students. Marina holds a Master’s degree in Severe Special Education from Fitchburg State University and a Bachelor’s in Multicultural Education from University of Massachusetts Amherst. In her free time Marina enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to Disney World.ÌýÌý

Isabelle Maragnano is a classroom teacher at Campus School at Boston College, where she was previously a TA and undergraduate buddy volunteer. She holds a Master's degree in Teaching Students with Extensive Support Needs from Boston College, where she also received her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and English. Isabelle is passionate about communication, accessibility, and meaningful engagement for every student, and prioritizes those elements in her lessons. When she isn't teaching, Isabelle enjoys reading books, watching movies, crafting, and being active outdoors.

Amanda Brennen is a Classroom Teacher and Teacher Leader at Campus School at Boston College. Amanda is responsible for creating accessible and engaging lessons for students as well as leading collaboration efforts for all the classrooms. Prior to working at Campus School, Amanda was a long term substitute for Taunton Public Schools. Amanda holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College and a Bachelor’s degree in Severe Special Education from Bridgewater State University. Amanda is also the recipient of the Bernard A. Stotsky/Thomas H. Browne Prize from Boston College.

Hannah joined Campus School at Boston College in 2024 and is a classroom teacher. Prior to working at Campus School, Hannah taught second grade inclusion at Foxborough Regional Charter. She has been involved in Camp Arrowhead, a summer program for children and adults with various support needs, since 2015. At Camp Arrowhead, Hannah worked as a one to one aide and eventually became a program supervisor. She is also involved with Natick Recreation’s adaptive programming and PCAs for various members of the community. Hannah’s favorite part of teaching is building relationships with students and supporting them as they reach their goals. Outside of school, Hannah enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and dogs.Ìý

Seth graduated from Binghamton University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in English and Sociology, and went on to earn his M.Ed and Severe Special Needs license at Lesley University. Prior to working at Campus School, Seth worked at Cotting School and Compass School. When Seth is not teaching, he enjoys writing, weightlifting, swimming, and being with friends.Ìý

Ruzhena Sikarova has been working as a Speech-Language Pathologist at the Campus School since 1997. She is responsible for evaluations and treatment of students’ receptive and expressive communication skills. Ruzhena teaches non speaking students to communicate using Augmentative and Alternative Communication. She works closely with teachers and families to implement AAC systems into the classrooms and homes. Prior to joining the Campus School, Ruzhena worked at Franciscan Hospital for Children and the Kennedy Day School. She holds a Master degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Moscow Pedagogical University. Ruzhena is licensed in Massachusetts and she is a certified member ofÌý the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

Prior to the Campus School at Boston College, Corinne worked at the Cardinal Cushing Centers in Hanover, MA. Corinne is responsible for providing therapy for receptive/expressive communication disorders and deficits as well as implementing AAC tools and techniques.Ìý

Kristen graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2023 with a Bachelors of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Kristen previously worked as a SLPA in the Fall River School District and came to Campus School to pursue a career more focused on alternative and augmentative communication.ÌýShe has aÌýlifetime of experience from growing up with a twin brother who has special needs. Kristen was introduced to sign language and low tech communication through her brother, and it became a passion! In her free time, Kristen enjoys traveling and hiking with her two huskies!Ìý

Olivia Beutel is a physical therapist at the Campus School at Boston College, where she started in September 2022. Olivia graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and continued at BU to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2022. Olivia gained experience previously at Franciscan Children’s Hospital, the Kennedy Day School, and while spending a semester abroad in New Zealand at Oaklynn Special School. She also works part-time as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist at BU’s Fitness and Recreation Center. In her free time, Olivia loves to read, bake, and run.Ìý

Matthew Contaldi is a physical therapist at the Campus School at Boston College, where he started in August 2022. Matt graduated from Northeastern University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Before that, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development at Boston College. Matt has experience working with pediatric populations at the Cambridge Public School district and the Kennedy Day School within the Franciscan Children’s Hospital. He is fully committed to helping his students reach their peak physical potentials. Outside of work, Matt enjoys all things basketball, running, and indoor planting.

Jessica van Hoff has worked as an Occupational Therapist at the Campus School since August 2013. She received her MS in occupational therapy from Boston University in 2012, and earned her BS from Penn State University in 2007. AfterÌý completing one of her full-time fieldwork experiences at the Campus School in 2011 and briefly working in outpatient neurorehab, Jess eagerly returned to the Campus School. She also works part-time with Deaf-Blind adults and is proficient in ASL. In her free time, Jess enjoys hiking, crafting, and spending time with her family and dog.ÌýÌý

Megan Macdonald is an Occupational Therapist at the Campus School at Boston College where she started in August 2023. Megan graduated with her MSOTÌýfrom Salem State University in May 2018 and has since worked in Early Intervention, sensory outpatient, and most recently in intensive outpatient therapy. Prior to becoming an OT, Megan worked at Boston Children's Hospital for several years. She is passionate about play, relationship building, child-led learning and all things OT. When she's not at work, Megan loves spending time reading and enjoying her family, including her two dogs.

Tamar (Tammy) Jernigan is one of three Registered Nurses at the Campus School at Boston College. She is responsible for managing the medical needs of the students while they are at school. With almost 30 years of nursing experience, some of her prior positions include 10+ years ofÌýpediatric home healthcare, seven years of early intervention, and several years in community health. Tammy has a BSN from Endicott College, is bilingual/bicultural, and fluent in Spanish.

Sarah Murphy is one of three registered nurses at the Campus School at Boston College. She is responsible for providing nursing care to students throughout the school day. Prior to working at the Campus School, Sarah was a registered nurse on a bone marrow transplant unit at Tufts Medical Center. She graduated with a BSN from Boston College's Connell School of Nursing in 2020 and is very happy to be back at the Campus School, where she volunteered as an undergrad. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys hiking and crocheting.

Prior to working at the Campus School, Abby was a registered nurse at Beth Israel on a transplant unit and also has experience as an outpatient OBGYNÌýnurse at a local community health center. She graduated from Boston College's Connell School of Nursing in 2021. As an undergraduate, Abby volunteered at the Campus School and participated in the Creative Kids group. She is gratefulÌýto be back at the Campus School where it feels like home. Outside of work, Abby enjoy reading, traveling, and going to the movies.Ìý

Shannon Connelly is the Life Skills Coordinator at Campus School at Boston College, teaching high school and transition age students about the skills necessary in adulthood. Shannon earned a Special Education degree at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 2021, and will be completing a Masters of Education in Extensive Support Needs with concentrations in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Deafblindness in 2024. Shannon works with the high school and transition classrooms, both in whole group and one to one settings.Ìý

Meghan McGowan joined Campus School at Boston College as an Assistive Technology Professional in the fall of 2023. She is a certified ATP and a member of RESNA. Meghan enjoys working with students to incorporate their interests into their education and finding creative solutions for areas of growth. She received a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Rhode Island and is also a licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant in the state of Massachusetts. Meghan previously worked at Cardinal Cushing Centers and most recently at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Geoff Barnes is a music therapist (MT-ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been working with, and learning from, children and adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, and visual impairments for twenty years.Ìý He currently offers music therapy at the Campus School at Boston College and is also an Assistant Professor at Lesley University in the Division of Psychology and Applied Therapies.

Paula Honzik joined the Campus School in 2017 as the teacher of students with visual impairments and certified instructor of orientation and mobility.Ìý She previously worked in the same position with the Boston Public Schools for 35 years.Ìý Paula holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master degree in education from Boston College. She holds an additional Master Degree in educational administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Paula is excited to be back at her alma mater and working with the Boston College community.Ìý

Rachael Rainville is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst at Campus School at Boston College. Rachael graduated from Westfield State University with a degree in Special Education and then earned her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Endicott College. Rachael works collaboratively with Campus School’s interdisciplinary team to embed appropriate ABA principles into students' days. Rachael has been working in the field of ABA for eight years and has prior experience working with students with extensive support needs, including medical complexities. Rachael is passionate about team collaboration and prioritizing student self-advocacy to ensure student success and respect.
