About

The Program for Global Public Health and the Common Good was established in 2018.听 It is based in the Boston College Connell School of Nursing and affiliated with the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society.

The program offers a 6-course minor and 12-course major in Global Public Health and the Common Good that is open to students from schools across Boston College.听

The mission of the Program for Global Public Health and the Common Good is to prepare our students to improve the health and well-being of all people, prevent disease, and advance health equity.

The Program is highly interdisciplinary and draws students and faculty from every school across Boston College.

Reflecting Boston College鈥檚 Jesuit, Catholic tradition, our Program is committed to social justice and to the preferential option for the poor.

We invite students in every school and major at 情色空间 to take our courses听and to听learn how public health intersects with Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Nursing, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Political Science, International Studies, Sociology, Environmental Science, History, Philosophy, Ethics, and Theology.

Our 6-course (18-credit) undergraduate minor听provides basic understanding of public health to students interested in medicine, dentistry and nursing.听听Our 12-course (36-credit) undergraduate major provides students听with deep听understanding of the theory and practice of public health and prepares them for graduate study and a broad range of health careers.

Our researchers study the spread of pandemics, nutrition and health, the health impacts of pollution and climate change, and the ethical foundations of public health.

We offer a wide range of undergraduate research and service opportunities in North America and around the world.
