Participation in the third annual Corcoran Center Case Competition jumped from 28 teams in 2020 to 45 this spring, as Boston College opened the competition to other universities (via Zoom) for the first time. Undergraduate groups from ten universities, including Cornell, Villanova, and University of California, Berkeley, joined ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä students in crafting proposals to build affordable housing for senior citizens on a surface parking lot in Quincy, Massachusetts. Two sisters, Eva Van Pelt ‘22 and Catherine Van Pelt ‘24, together with Alexander Felitto ‘24 (calling themselves ACE Real Estate), took home the first prize of $5,000 for their proposal. Second prize ($2,500) went to another ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä team, and students from University of Wisconsin-Madison walked off with $1,500 for the third prize. The final round took place April 21.
