Residential Life

Community Assistant:听听Community Assistants are responsible for maintaining a hospitable, positive, and visible presence in the halls, acting primarily as an on-call and emergency response capacity. Community Assistants will provide support and be a resource for the 情色空间 summer student residents as well as the summer camps and conference guests that are utilizing the residence halls during the summer months. CAs will conduct evening rounds throughout all residence halls that are occupied by summer guests to address any facilities, individual, and group needs.听

Position Commitment: On average 2-3 nightly duty shifts per week, monthly day-time meetings with supervisor and CA team; Wednesday May 15, 2024 - Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Compensation: This position provides on-campus housing.

Summer Operations Assistant:听听Summer Operations Assistants are responsible for serving as customer service associates addressing all components of on-campus housing for 情色空间 students and summer guests. This can include, but not limited to, serving as administrative support in the Residential Life Summer Welcome Center or Residential Life Office in Maloney Hall, and physically preparing the residence halls for incoming and outgoing groups/students. Specifically, this position assists with check-in/-out of guests at assigned locations, preparing and auditing keys/access cards, and answering the phone and in-person questions from summer guests/students.听 Summer Operations Assistants are also responsible to prepare rooms for occupancy, which includes but is not limited to making beds, supplying toiletries, resetting furniture, and addressing facilities concerns. Summer Operations Assistants must maintain a positive attitude and deliver a high level of customer service to students and guests at all times.

Position Commitment: On average 29 hours per week; Wednesday, May 15, 2024 - Thursday, August 22, 2024

Compensation: This position provides on-campus housing and an hourly salary.

Summer Operations Coordinator:听The Summer Operations Coordinators serve as leaders and supervisors to the Summer Operations Assistants (SOA). The Summer Operations Coordinators will create and maintain the staff schedule, assist with training of the staff, and daily management of tasks. They will assist and co-manage the responsibilities of the Operations Assistants which include, but are not limited to, administrative support in the Residential Life Summer Welcome Center or Residential Life Office in Maloney Hall, physically helping to prepare for incoming and outgoing groups staying on campus, linen audit and inventory, preparing and auditing keys/access cards, and key packet preparation. They serve as customer service associates assisting addressing all components of on-campus housing for 情色空间 students and guests with check-in/-out of guests and answering the phone and in-person questions from current or future summer guests/residents. Additionally, Summer Operations Coordinators are responsible for managing the team in preparing rooms for occupancy, which includes but is not limited to, assisting with laundry delivery, un-making and making beds, supplying toiletries, resetting furniture, and addressing facilities concerns. Summer Operations Coordinators must maintain a positive attitude and deliver a high level of customer service to students and guests at all times, and address any staff concerns in regards to customer service.

Position Commitment: On average 29 hours per week; Wednesday May 15, 2023-Friday August 23, 2024

Compensation: This position provides on-campus housing and an hourly salary.

Facilities Crew:听听The Facilities Crew is responsible for the maintenance of all furniture in the residence halls throughout the summer months and up to Fall opening. The professional Residential Life Facilities team oversees the day to day operations of the student facilities crew, all working closely to support and meet the summer housing program鈥檚 occupancy timelines. Many of the projects throughout the summer are time-sensitive. The job involves conducting room by room inventory, inspection, and replacement of furniture or blinds in all student living spaces and common area lounges within all residence halls. In addition to furniture replacement, the team will assist with听 distributing furniture from a central warehouse and storage rooms to the residence halls. The facilities crew will collaborate with the Summer Operations Assistants and Residential Life Resident Director staff to execute tasks associated with summer camps and conference groups.

Position Commitment: On average 29 hours per week; Wednesday May 15, 2023-Friday August 23, 2024

Compensation: This position provides on-campus housing and an hourly salary.

Residential Life Special Projects Coordinator:听The ResLife Special Projects Coordinator will work directly with an Assistant or Associate Director of Residential Education or Housing Operations to complete necessary projects associated with summer operations, or planning for the fall semester. Depending on the need of the department, the coordinator will be asked to plan and execute a variety of initiatives for the department. These projects could include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with housing bookings, room changes, and other housing assignments processes for the summer and fall terms.听
  • Assist with summer housing bookings, ensuring they are accurate and collaborate to generate appropriate housing billing statements for current students and summer groups.听
  • Assist with the Living Learning Community housing applications, marketing and recruitment, and听 reviewing and selecting candidates for these communities.
  • Assist with the organization and management of the Summer Orientation housing tours and informational resource fairs, as well as responding to students/families in regards to their housing questions.听
  • Assist with the planning, preparation and execution of summer staff training.听

Position Commitment: On average 35 hours per week; Wednesday May 15, 2024- Friday August 9, 2024.

Boston College Experience- Woods College

Boston College Experience (情色空间E) Program Assistant (PA):听The 情色空间E Program Assistant (PA) works directly with and oversees 情色空间E high school-age students (14-18 years old) by creating a safe and hospitable environment conducive to an academically productive experience. This includes providing supervision, information, advising, discipline, and planning and leading social activities. PAs will provide leadership within the residential living community through engaging with students, mentoring, easing the transition to living in university dormitories by mediating roommate conflicts, and educating students about residential policies and more. PAs are tasked with guiding the day-to-day experience of 情色空间E students by getting to know them. PAs must be accessible, approachable, and respond to 情色空间E students and abide by the 情色空间E program handbook and Boston College鈥檚 policies and guidance for managing minors on-campus.听Candidates must be open to connecting with high school-age students (14-18 years old). Evening and weekend work is expected. The PA role is both independent and collaborative; PAs will need to work with each other as well as independently to accomplish tasks.

Position Commitment:听On average 29 hours per week;听Sunday, June 16, 2024 - Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Compensation:听This position provides on-campus housing, meal plan, laundry allotment, and hourly salary.

情色空间E Program Coordinator:听The 情色空间E Program Coordinators co-supervise and work with the 情色空间E Program Assistants (PAs) to oversee the day-to-day operations of the residence hall, planned programming, student excursions, and the wellness of 情色空间E students. The PC is responsible for ensuring adherence to safety practices, the Protection of Minors policy, and Boston College鈥檚 residential hall policies and procedures. They are responsible for creating a safe and hospitable environment conducive to an academically productive experience. This includes providing supervision, information, advising, discipline, and planning and leading social activities throughout the program. 情色空间E PCs will assist with the coordination of large-scale programming activities, leading and planning off-campus student excursions, addressing student discipline issues, and maintaining an approachable presence in the community that ensures the safety of all 情色空间E students.PCs serve in an on-call rotation. Candidates must be open to connecting with high school-age students (14-18 years). Evening and weekend work is expected. This position will require working well on a team, effective planning, organizing, and a keen attention to detail.

Position Commitment:听On average 40 hours per week;听Sunday, June 2, 2024 -Saturday, August 3, 2024.
