The Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UG情色空间) is a student government created to enrich the lives of students attending Boston College. Its purpose is to serve on behalf of students' interests and to help cultivate an engaged and caring student community.

Jonah Kotzen (he/him) is a senior from West Palm Beach, FL majoring in Biology and Classical Studies in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. Outside of UG情色空间, Jonah is also involved in Residence Hall Association (RHA), Classics Club, Alpha Sigma Nu, Global Medical Brigades, and Hillel. From advocating for important issues to fostering a stronger community, UG情色空间 has allowed Jonah to grow as a leader and create lasting connections with individuals who share his same passion for advocacy. He is grateful for the platform UG情色空间 has provided him to amplify voices, drive positive change, and work towards a more inclusive and equitable Boston College.

Ellie Rogowski (she/her) is a senior from Hinsdale, IL majoring in Finance and Accounting for Finance & Consulting and minoring in Sociology in the Carroll School of Management. On campus, she is the President of 情色空间 charity: water and a member of the Fulton Leadership Society. Ellie is honored to be part of such a great group of students advocating for necessary change on our campus. She believes UG情色空间 is a powerful culmination of efforts between students and administration and hopes to constantly and successfully improve students' well-being.


Diversity & Inclusion

The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) shall be tasked with addressing student concerns regarding diversity and inclusion on campus.

It is the purpose of the Division to address student issues and concerns in regards to diversity and inclusion including, but not limited to, race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, disability, and socioeconomic status. Through programming, policy work, and community outreach, the Division seeks to foster a Boston College community where all students feel safe, welcomed, and supported. 听

The Division consist of the AHANA+ Leadership Council听(ALC), 听the Council for Students with Disabilities (CSD), the GLBTQ+ Leadership Council听(GLC). Collectively, the Division hosts campus-wide events such as AHANA+ Celebration Week, Pride Week, ALC Ball, GLC Formal, and ALC Showdown.

Joshua Golden (he/him) is a junior from The Bronx, NY majoring in Political Science in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. Outside of UG情色空间, he is also on the Club Rugby Team and an International Assistant. For Josh, it is important to leave a place in better condition than when he found it. UG情色空间 has continuously provided him with the opportunity to assist his peers and work with administration to create a more inclusive campus.

Yosan Tewelde (she/her) is a senior from Portland, OR majoring in International Studies and minoring in Journalism and Management & Leadership in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. On campus, she is also involved with the Ethiopian-Eritrean Student Association and Arrupe. Yosan joined UG情色空间 because she loves what ALC represents and advocates for, providing her with an amazing opportunity to make AHANA+ students鈥 voices heard.

Aidan Seguin (he/him) is a junior from Norwell, MA majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Women鈥檚 & Gender Studies in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. In addition to UG情色空间, Aidan is the Co-President of Allies, a member of the Chemistry Department鈥檚 Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and conducts research in Professor Peter Zhang鈥檚 lab. Aidan chose to participate in UG情色空间 so he could have an impact on the broad 情色空间 community and advocate for changes that improve the lives of students. He feels called to DEI work as it bridges the gaps between different student experiences and brings meaningful change through difficult conversations.

Heidi Yun (she/her) is a senior from Ridgefield, NJ majoring in Sociology and minoring in Women鈥檚 & Gender Studies in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. Outside of UG情色空间, Heidi is a member of the Boston College Career Center鈥檚 Government, Law, and Public Policy Student Advisory Board and Bellarmine Law Society. UG情色空间 has been an instrumental vehicle of change for Heidi, offering her a safe haven to take her passion for disability advocacy to another level. Through UG情色空间, she has been able to take part in instigating productive and timely change relevant to the greater Boston College community.


Student Initiatives

The Division of Student Initiatives (SI) shall be tasked with devising and executing issue-driven campaigns and programming that demonstrate, to the greater Boston College community, that the undergraduate population has interest in a particular area of concern.鈥

Student Initiatives addresses student issues and concerns by executing advocacy programming and issue campaigns in coordination with Senate policy. Advocacy programming consists of large-scale programming, such as speaker events or film screenings, and small-scale programming, such as workshops, topic-specific dinner series, or publicity campaigns. Issue campaigns are initiatives meant to bring awareness to a specific issue over a sustained period of time.

Anna Quinn (she/her) is a sophomore from Atlanta, GA majoring in Transformative Educational Studies and Political Science and minoring in Spanish in the Lynch School of Education & Human Development. Outside of UG情色空间, Anna is also involved with For Boston, 情色空间 Bigs, and Campus Ministry. Anna is passionate about advocating for students and collaborating with other student leaders to make Boston College the university we know it can be. She believes in the power of community, belonging, and school spirit. As the Student Initiatives Director, she is excited to use 情色空间's resources to better the day-to-day experiences of all eagles.


Financial Affairs

The Division of Environmental Sustainability shall be tasked with advancing the interests of the student body with respect to environmental issues on campus and within the greater Boston Community.

The Division of Environmental Sustainability advocates for green changes to Boston College鈥檚 campus through working with the Office of Sustainability, directing the Sustainability Action Committee, and other avenues

The Finance division has the primary responsibility of assisting the other divisions within UG情色空间 in the processing and assessment of their allocated budgets. The Finance division seeks not only to improve the financial transparency of the organization, but also to provide guidance in creating and managing division budgets. The Finance division serves as a resource to UG情色空间 divisions and their leadership, and to any student who wishes to understand the financial processes of our student government.

Sahithi Thumuluri听(she/her) is a junior from Columbus, OH majoring in Economics and Political Science and minoring in International Studies in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. On campus, Sahithi is also a part of TEDxBostonCollege, Model UN, and the South Asian Student Association (SASA). To Sahithi, UG情色空间 has been a core part of her college career for as long as she has been on the Heights. It has brought her a unique group of people who have transformed her in ways I could never have imagined, and taught her what effective and meaningful advocacy looks like. She explains that, to her, 鈥淯G情色空间 is both the force and the family that makes Boston College home.鈥

Communications Division

The Division of Communications (COMM) shall be tasked with promoting and publicizing the work and initiatives of the UG情色空间 through those means it deems reasonably appropriate.

The Communications division handles event marketing, media, branding, and outreach for all the divisions in UG情色空间. The role of this division is to get the word out about what UG情色空间 is doing, capture memories through photography and videography, and design and order flyers, banners, and UG情色空间 merchandise (cardholders, sweaters, stickers, etc) for various UG情色空间 events. Applicants who are interested in the intersection between advocacy and design are encouraged to apply for Communications.

Julia Tobey (she/her) is a senior from Wakefield, MA majoring in Communication and minoring in English and Women鈥檚 & Gender Studies in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. Julia has previously served as a Newsletter Editor for the Communications Division of UG情色空间 and as the Social Media Coordinator for the GLBTQ+ Leadership Council. On campus, she is an Employer Engagement Assistant at the Boston College Career Center. Julia has a passion for advocacy as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Looking to combine this passion with her interests in media, she joined UG情色空间 to aid in the organization鈥檚 efforts to create a better Boston College for all students.

Alex Lermond (she/her) is a senior from Reading, MA majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Math and Economics in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences. Outside of UG情色空间, she is a member of EcoPledge, Every Bite Counts, and the Women鈥檚 Center. Alex joined UG情色空间 in order to take real action toward sustainability on 情色空间's campus. As this year鈥檚 E&S Director, her goal is to help improve campus in this regard and to use this division as a way to bring together other environmental groups both within and surrounding 情色空间.

UG情色空间 Senate

The Senate acts as the legislative branch of the UG情色空间 by working to enact legislation, conduct surveys, and address student concerns and needs on campus. The Senate structure consists of four standing committees that work toward the aforementioned goals in an effort to better the 情色空间 student experience within their respective policy areas. These committees include the Academic Affairs Committee, the Community Relations Committee, the Intersectionality Committee, and the Student Life Committee. Each committee is overseen by a Senate representative who serves as a committee chair. Meghan Heckelman (she/her) is a junior from Mineola, NY majoring in Applied Psychology and Human Development and Political Science and minoring in Management & Leadership in the Lynch School of Education & Human Development. On campus, Meghan is a current co-director of the Jenks Leadership Program, an Appa Student Leader, a Clough Public Service Fellow, a Gift of Life Marrow Registry Campus Ambassador, and is involved with the John Marshall Project. Having previously served as the Director of Student Initiatives, Meghan is passionate about getting proximal with students through programs, events, and even random encounters on the quad! As the leader of the Senate, Meghan looks forward to promoting openness and transparency, engaging with students and administrators, and executing meaningful initiatives toward a better Boston College.
