Important notes about proper addressing:
- Please use the student's name as they are registered at Boston College. Use of a nickname may delay the delivery of their package.
- There is no need to include "Boston College" in the address, as carriers recognize the street addresses as ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä locations.
- Please double check that you are using the correct zip code to be sure your package is delivered to Boston College (and not a similar nearby address).
- Improper addressing leads to delays in delivery from the carrier and sorting in the ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä mail room.
You will receive an email notification when your letter mail is ready for pickup.ÌýPlease present this email with your ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä ID when picking up your mail at the mail room, and the clerk will retrieve it for you.Ìý
Bring your Boston College ID and the email notification you received from ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä. Please note that it needs to be the ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä email notification. Carriers may send you a notice that your package has been delivered, but it takes a little time for Mail Services to process all of the incoming packages. When your package is ready for pickup at your mail room, you will receive a notification from the ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä package tracking system.

No, your address will change every year. Your residence hall and room number are part of your mailing address (see "Student Mailing Addresses" section of this page). Each year when you move, please be sure you update your mailing address with friends and family and when you are ordering items online.
Boston College currenlty receives approximately 280,000 packages a year for students living on campus. In order to distribute them in a timely fashion, it helps for students to know some key information.
You will receive an email notification when your package is ready for pickup. The email will contain the package's tracking number and the location where it is located, including mail room and shelf location. Please present this email with your ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä ID when picking up your package at the mail room, and the clerk will retrieve the package for you.Ìý
Pick up your packages in a timely fashion. After the initial email notification, you will receive a second notice and then a final reminder email to pick up your package. Typically, packages not picked up within 10 days will be returned to sender.
Proper addressing matters.ÌýPlease use the name that you are registered with at Boston College. Nicknames or alternate names delay package processing and can lead to packages being returned to sender. Also, each mail room has its own street address. Please be sure to use the correct mailing address (see "Student Mailing Addresses" on this page).Ìý
Mail room hours are posted on this website.ÌýSee the above "Mail Room Hours" section for current operating hours. To accommodate heavy demand at the beginning of the semester, the mail rooms are open for extended hours and some Sundays. Later in the semester, hours will be updated to reflect standard hours.Ìý
Please also refer to the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of this page for additional information.
Yes, but just at the beginning of the fall semester move-in period. Mail Services and the Office of Residential Life are pleased to provide first year students with delivery of large and/or heavy packages directly to their residence hall rooms during peak move-in days in the fall semester. In-room delivery of large packages is only available for first year students.
To be eligible for this service, packages must be received to the ÇéÉ«¿Õ¼ä campus before August 16, 2024.Ìý
Please be sure packages are properly addressed (see "Student Mailing Addresses" on this page).
Large packages received after August 16 must be picked up at the mail rooms.ÌýIf you have any questions about this service, please emailÌýmail.room@bc.edu, and we will respond as soon as possible.
The Office of Residential Life has a great web page for first year students. Check out their "First-Year Student Packing Guide" for items they recommend and items that aren't allowed.
