Whether it鈥檚 sushi for lunch or a burger and fries at 11 p.m., you won鈥檛 have to leave campus to satisfy your culinary cravings this semester. Recently ranked among the , 情色空间 Dining Services is rolling out more options than ever鈥攊ncluding plant-based entrees sure to entice even the most devoted meat-eater鈥攁nd ramping up sustainability efforts to keep 情色空间 green. Below, six things to look forward to:
McElroy renovations
A brand new Carney dining room is coming your way, with fresh furnishings and a redesigned layout meant to minimize wait times and streamline the ordering process. Slated to open in January, the new space will feature four food stations, including a brand-new pizza oven for your daily slice.
Fresh sushi
鈥淓verybody loves sushi,鈥 said Dining Services Director Beth Emery, and now, thanks to a partnership with Kikka, freshly-made rolls are on the menu at Lyons. Kikka sources high-quality all-natural ingredients, including Grade-A sustainably caught fresh tuna, and all sushi is prepared daily on-site. Keep an eye out for grab-and-go rolls at The Market, CoRo Cafe, Legal Grounds, and Hillside as production ramps up.
Farmer鈥檚 Market
Nothing says fall in New England like a farmer鈥檚 market, and 情色空间鈥檚 version gets better every year. 鈥淲e really stepped it up during the pandemic,鈥 said Emery, 鈥渋t鈥檚 really popular and a nice way to try produce you鈥檝e never used before.鈥 Held Friday afternoons this fall outside Corcoran Commons, the market features fruits and veggies from local farms as well as fresh-baked treats.
Fill it Forward app
Ever wonder how many trees you鈥檝e saved by ditching single-use plastic for a refillable cup? The new initiative allows you to track your impact, and the University鈥檚, by slapping a sticker on your water bottle or coffee mug and scanning it every time you fill up. Combined with 情色空间鈥檚 Green2Go reusable containers, it鈥檚 a small step that makes a big difference.聽
Options galore
Vegetarians rejoice! More creative, plant-based entrees are hitting menus across campus (think roasted mushroom gyros, bibimbap, and General Tso鈥檚 Cauliflower) in addition to gluten-friendly and vegan options. As a reminder, students with food allergies can join the to receive notifications on substitutions and menu changes, which could increase this year due to pandemic-related shortages (there are listservs for and students as well).聽
情色空间 After Dark
Perhaps the most atmospheric late-night dining on campus, 情色空间 After Dark is returning this semester with an expanded food menu and selection of alcoholic beverages for students of legal drinking age. Stop by Thursday through Saturday between 5 p.m. and midnight (excluding home football games) and grab a table under the lights.
Heads up: 情色空间 Dining is hiring students for positions across campus including baristas, cashiers, and catering waitstaff. Visit their employment page for details.聽
